The doctors at Geneva Eye Care are committed to being on the cutting-edge of vision technology. We continually invest in state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment. Our doctors and staff are rigorously trained to ensure that we’re doing everything we can to improve our patient’s vision and quality of life. Our office utilizes the Medmont E300 Corneal Topographer, one of the newest and most advanced methods of corneal measurement. The E300 provides detailed topography data over a wide area of the human cornea. Images, with over 15,000 measurement points, are captured automatically with a simple alignment system, which makes patient testing simple and quick. These measurements are essential in diagnosing corneal disease and dry eye, as well as for precise contact lens fitting, even in the most complex cases.
Similar to an MRI or CT scan for the eye, the iVue OCT, optical coherence tomography, uses the SD-OCT to produce cross sectional images of the retinal layers – which is the sensitive area of the back of your eye – in a matter of seconds. Many eye problems can develop without warning and progress without symptoms. In early stages, you may not even notice a change in your vision. But sight threatening conditions and diseases such as macular degeneration, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy and others can be detected with a thorough exam of the retina.
Humphrey HFA II-i Visual Field Analyzer
The HFA II-i is a high resolution visual field device that is particularly useful in detecting and monitoring disturbances that are commonly related to eye diseases of the retina, optic nerve, and other structures related to the visual pathways. This technology helps our doctors determine the stage of a disease, its rate of progression, and the patient’s risk of future vision loss. By closely monitoring changes in the eye, the HFA II-i can aid our doctors in preventing irreversible vision loss.
Digital Eye Charts
Our Digital Eye Chart System provides a completely reproducible vision examination. No more dim, hard to read eye charts in dark examination rooms. Our computerized eye charts allow us to perform a vision refraction in normal, ambient lighting, giving you a more accurate spectacle prescription.
The QuantifEye MPS measurement instrument is the most reliable and accurate device for measuring Macular Pigment Optical Density (MPOD). When low level of macula pigment is found, a risk factor for macula degeneration is identified and we can recommend steps to reduce this risk.
